Antonio Conte is plotting a stunning £38million reunion with Arturo Vidal at Chelsea, according to reports. Conte’s No 1 midfielder target as he bids to replaced £60m Oscar at Stamford Bridge is Roma’s Radja Nainggolan, but Chelsea have been put off by his £51.5m valuation. But according to The Sun, Conte held a meeting with Bayern Munich star Vidal and his representatives on Boxing Day. It is said Chelsea are set to make an initial offer of £34m but Bayern are holding out for closer to £40m. Vidal, 29, became one of the world’s best midfielders during his three years at Juventus, when Conte was manager. The pair have a great relationship with Conte saying: “Arturo Vidal said he’d take me to war with him? I’d take Vidal too.” Arsene Wenger has admitted there has been no progress on new contracts for Arsenal stars Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil. The Gunners duo have just 18 months to run on their current deals at the Emirates, and are both apparently demanding £200,000 a week to stay. But today Wenger said: “We have had to face a lot of wrong information but we can not give anything else. There is nothing new.” Manchester United are expected to offer Livingston a £150,000 deal to sign striker Matthew Knox if he impresses on his third trial next week. The MailOnline say United have invited 17-year-old Knox to their Carrington training ground again after he previously paid them a visit in August. Knox is also thought to be on the radars of Liverpool, Tottenham, Everton and Nottingham Forest.
